In this level, the student will review the basic grammar already covered in the first two levels and explore some of the finer points of grammar. Emphasis on listening and speaking skills, with a goal of using no English on the part of the student, allows for a greater degree of self-expression. As a part of the culture, the student will be introduced to various types of literature. In addition to the basic text, course materials include a workbook, audio-visual media, and other readings. Students are required to keep a diary first semester and do a research project in German second semester. Students who did not previously qualify for Delta Epsilon Phi may do so during this course.
