This course is designed for the student who has little or no German experience. By the end of the course, the student will be able to participate in and understand elementary expressions with commonly used German vocabulary. Also, the student will be introduced to basic concepts of grammar. This course focuses on the introduction to reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Classroom presentations and textual materials are used to expose the student to aspects of German culture. Materials include the basic text, workbook, recordings, an interactive CD program, and teacher-prepared handouts and transparencies.
